The Season of Evolving: The Growth of EMP

The season of evolving can sneak up on you when you least expect it. You begin to feel the craving for change. The need to create in a new way. You’ve reached the confinements of comfort & are ready for more. To feel the spark you’ve once felt before. To live, to create, to imagine the life you’re dreaming of and it all begins to come into focus. Growth. Last year held much growth in more ways than one, and a desire to change. To settle into the evolving that was taking place within me. And it was in the quiet moments of reflection that I began to realize the more I was evolving the more I felt the change in my business, my branding, and my work. Thus began the evolving & growth of EMP.

The year of 2025 was a year of investment and preparation. I invested more than anything in my business. Earlier in the year I was on one of Lindsey Romans group coaching calls and I asked for some advice on how to grow in the wedding industry as a fairly new wedding photographer. I had come to the conclusion that after years of shooting couples, motherhood, and brands, I had finally narrowed down my niche. I slowly phased out brands, and kept motherhood, couples and weddings. It wasn’t until the advice I was given that would change the trajectory of my branding. I had to make the choice to begin marketing only couples & weddings.

When the call ended, I received a message from another photographer. She was putting together a content creation day. A perfect opportunity to build my portfolio, connect with creatives, and grow my community. It was in those days that I began to grow and evolve as a creative & photographer. As I would edit the shoots I noticed my style beginning to change. What I used to like no longer fit. Without me noticing, the changes taking place in me were indeed flowing into my work.

Scrolling through my instagram feed I saw the subtle changes of the color palette in the edits. The ease of settling into the moments. The open trust that was gifted to me. The sweetness of the growth in my business began to come alive. The season of evolving was in full force and there was no looking back. Overtime my portfolio began to grow and I was loving the community I was building. It wasn’t until I gathered up my receipts and documented my business cost in 2025 that I realized just how much I had invested into EMP. Little by little the subtle changes, the new gear, the opportunities that came my way had been sprinkles of the changes that I needed. My brand couldn’t stay the same because I no longer was the same person I was when I launched in 2020.

Looking back now I see the sprinkles of Gods hands over everything. When change comes it doesn’t take our comfort into consideration. In fact it flips it upside down and inside out. But evolving and growth can’t take place in a comfortable environment. It thrives in a challenging, refining atmosphere. Investment is one of the key components in a season of evolving. I know that as I continue to evolve and grow so will my brand. My style will change yet again, there will be new investments, shifts in my schedule etc. Because time doesn’t stand still for no one, and if we don’t embrace the transformation, we can miss out on some pretty great things. All the investment I put in last year, I am beginning to see the fruit of it.

I’m at the tail end of my rebrand. Over a year in the making, literally lol. But life happens and seasons change and sometimes in order for us to be ready for the unfolding we need to endure. I am so excited to launch this new site. It has pieces of myself that I wanted to share with you all. A space for you to submit your prayer request, and dream up your special day in the poetry written in the love stories captured through time.

with love, Liz
