I had the best time photographing Zoe & Adam for their in-home couples session. I met Zoe during my time at Anthropologie. It took a little bit for us to befriend one another, but once we did we hit it off. During the months of building my brand, I found out Zoe was married. She had shown me a wedding portrait of her and Adam on their wedding day in Virginia. The first thing that came to mind was how perfect they would be for an adventurous couples session. I definitely had to get these 2 in front of my lens!

We chose the first Sunday in December at Central Park … but mother nature had other plans. After a quick chat, we agreed to shoot in their cozy apartment on the Upper East side. When I stepped into their apartment, it was everything that I envisioned for their couples session. Beautiful vintage furniture, 2 excited pups, holiday spirit, and so much love.
The first thing that popped out to me was their wall decor. They have a variety of art canvases displayed around their living room. However, a large white canvas with black script font that said I love you in sentences going down the canvas was hung right above their love seat. Ironic isn’t it?
I knew there was a story to tell when I read the last sentence that said, “I love you, Zoe… will you marry me?”
Adam proposed to Zoe in a beautiful Botanical Garden back home in Virginia. He had the canvas set up while soft music played in the background. If that doesn’t scream true love, then I don’t know what does lol.
Zoe and Adam’s love is an inspiration to me & all the other romantics sitting out there reading this blog right now… I feel ya girl. Their love for one another shown so bright threw every photo. They were playful, silly, and one with each other.
I was captivated while capturing these vulnerable moments. It was a blast making these memories with them. I told them to be themselves and everything else will fall into place. We joked, we laughed and had intriguing conversations. Their pups Louie & Girl were cherries on top!
I’ll share a little secret with ya’ll, Louie was in the photos with Zoe & Adam on their love seat, but he wedged between them and cuddled up into a ball, therefore you can’t see him lol but it was still the cutest thing ever.
Would you believe that these two thought they would be awkward to photograph … I beg to differ. While I was editing them, I got teary-eyed (that’s no joke).
Thank you, Zoe and Adam, for letting me into your little nook and showing the world true love does exist. It’s beautiful when you get to spend your life with your best friend and pups! 🙂
